Our Founder

Pastor Kevin V. Freeman is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and has been a resident of Birmingham, Alabama for nearly 20 years. He is a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel who is a dynamic Bible teacher and conference speaker. He is the Founder and President of a non-profit outreach, Freedom Music Ministries, Inc. a ministry to the homes of the sick and shut-in. He is also the founder of Servants of Power Mentorship Program, an outreach to the under-served, at-risk and underprivileged youth and young adults ages 13-25.

Pastor Freeman earned a Bachelor of Music and Arts Degree from the Abundant Life School of Ministry, Birmingham, Alabama and is presently pursuing a Master of Theology Degree. In his formative years he studied piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Music School Settlement, in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed Worship Leadership Studies at Samford University, in the Beeson School of Divinity. He is the host of a thriving Worship Conference in the month of February annually in the City Birmingham, Alabama.

This man of God is a renowned composer, musician and trainer. Pastor Freeman’s ministry has taken him across the country and abroad to Anchorage, Alaska, Jerusalem, Israel and San Jose, Costa Rica, to conduct worship seminars, vocal and keyboard clinics. Through this ministry, he conducts workshops and seminars on Praise and Worship, Music in the Church and Church Administration. He was a special guest pianist and composer for the first CD project of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Gospel Choir.

In 2005, Pastor Kevin was given special recognition Resolution by the Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Birmingham for leadership and dedication in helping people. Kevin is an alumnus and an official representative of the International Worship Institute, of Dallas, Texas.

Pastor Kevin is the President of the Greater Birmingham Ministers of Music Fellowship. He has served as Pianist/Organist for the Alabama Symphony Orchestra Gospel Choir. Pastor Kevin currently serves as a musician and composer for the Birmingham Community Mass Choir of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Inc.

Pastor Kevin is presently a member and the Executive Pastor of Abundant Life Christian Tabernacle under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Daniel M. Cason-II of Birmingham, Alabama. He has also had the privilege to share the stage in ministry with artists such as the Late Thomas A. Whitfield, Rodney Posey, Micah Stampley, Beverly Crawford, Byron Cage, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Judith Christie-McAllister and many more.
